Fabio Dominski

Congratulations for being elected Ambassador of the month! Could you tell us a bit more about yourself?

Hello everyone, I’m very glad to have been elected ambassador of the month. I’m Fábio Dominski, from Brazil. I’m professor of Santa Catarina State University, located in the south of Brazil. I’m also a PhD student in Human Movement Sciences at the same University, and researcher in the Laboratory of Psychology of Sport and Exercise. My areas of study are Physical Activity and Health, Sport Psychology, Exercise Psychology, and Air pollution. I’m always looking for publications in important journals but also for better scientific communication with society. In addition to doing research in University, I’m teaching sports like basketball, handball, volleyball and exercise modalities such as functional training and strength training.

In what ways do you think your friends and colleagues can benefit from Researcher?

The application provides a resource to keep academics and scientists around the world updated with the latest papers available in the literature. Considering my colleagues in the Medical & Health Sciences area, this app may be interesting for researchers, school teachers, physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, sports science and exercise professionals, those involved in public policy, and the general public, because the app’s platform enables quick and easy access to the best scientific journals of the world. The main benefit is: Less time on social media and more time in contact with science!

What changes would you like to see in academia?

We urgently need more scientific communication, and then more evidence-based practice. Researcher app is an excellent initiative and must be taken into account in the research development context. In Brazil, all researchers need more funding to develop their research.
